Learn the legend and folklore of this creature, with detailed stories and information on the back of the card as well as a Divination, Oracle, or Fortune in case you decide to build your collection of these cards and want to make a custom deck.

Divination/Fortune meaning:

It's okay to feel insecure sometimes but just remember that you are beautiful no matter what you might think of yourself. It seems you might need a bit of a boost to your confidence, and some new affirmations for self worth. Don't be toxic and unkind to yourself, be purposeful and considerate with your words when you're referring to yourself or to others. Beauty comes from within, and sometimes our vision of ourselves isn't accurate.

❤Folklore:

The name Belladonna is Italian for Beautiful Lady, once upon a time a tincture was made with the Belladonna plant that was used to dilate the pupils, this result was considered attractive, and after prolonged use the users were said to go blind.

Atropa Belladonna, more commonly referred to as simply Belladonna or deadly nightshade is an incredibly poisonous plant. The leaves and berries are intensely toxic when eaten. Despite its dangerous nature in our history it was widely used by witches, and in pagan practices as well as in the cosmetic and medical field.

The Bukovina women had a special ritual so that others would find them more attractive. They would enter the fields on a Sunday in Shrovetide with bread, brandy and salt. The girl would dig up the roots of deadly nightshade and replace them with the offerings that she had brought with her. On her way back into town, and to her home she had to carry the roots on her head without divulging what she was doing to anyone otherwise the spell would be broken.

More historic applications of this plant include its use in a mixture of poisonous psychotropic herbs called flying ointment that was allegedly applied by witches to help them fly to their gatherings and induce psychic visions.

Like with most mysterious beautiful women, they can often times be deadly and destructive to the heart. So don’t eat, drink, or rub this plant on yourself please. You’re already beautiful to me.
